Makan Yacht Group is looking for an experienced Yacht Detailer to join our professional detail crew. We work on high-end vessels for discerning clients across Southern California's premier marinas, and we take the quality of our work seriously. About the Role
This is not a general cleaning job. It is skilled work that demands expertise, consistency, and a trained eye. You will be responsible for the full interior and exterior detailing of luxury yachts, executing to a high standard on every vessel, every time.
Responsibilities
- Wash, scrub, and rinse yacht exteriors, including hulls, decks, and windows, to a professional finish.
- Detail and sanitize interiors, including cabins, galleys, and heads.
- Wet sand, cut with a rotary, buff, and polish gelcoat and painted surfaces to restore gloss and remove oxidation, scratches, and imperfections.
- Apply wax and polish to protect and maintain restored surfaces.
- Perform teak cleaning, brightening, and oiling using proper technique.
- Use detailing tools and products safely and efficiently.
- Identify and report damage or maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Work from detailed checklists to deliver consistent, quality results.
- Navigate vessels safely across various dock and marina environments.
- Keep tools and supplies organized and job-ready.
- Represent Makan Yacht Group professionally at all client locations.
Schedule
- Full Time | 40 Hours Per Week
- 4 Day Work Week. You choose your day off.
- 8 Hours of Guaranteed Overtime per week.
- Weekends typically not required.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking candidates with real experience in yacht or marine detailing, teak work, or high-end boat care. You should be someone who holds themselves to a high standard without being told to.
Requirements include prior experience in yacht detailing, boat cleaning, teak work, or marine maintenance; rotary tool proficiency for cutting and buffing; ability to commute to Marina del Rey, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, or Newport Beach; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to swim; a smartphone; ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle report; and authorization to work in the United States.
You are a great fit if you are meticulous and take real pride in finished results, self-directed and dependable without needing close supervision, comfortable working both independently and as part of a crew, and physically capable of demanding outdoor work throughout the day.
