JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is seeking a Paralegal to join its legal department, which is currently undergoing a strategic growth initiative. This role will support a dynamic legal team and report directly to GC and AGC, both located in NYC.
HYBRID: 1-3 days/week in NYC Office
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Our client is seeking a Paralegal to join its legal department, which is currently undergoing a strategic initiative to expand and professionalize the legal team. This role will support a dynamic legal team and report directly to the GC and AGC both based in New York City.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The paralegal candidate will support a very busy lean legal team in several areas:
- Litigation Support:
- Track litigation matters
- Organize motions and related litigation documentation
- Agent Dispute Resolution:
- Respond to low-level demand letters from real estate agents regarding commissions
- Agent Relations:
- Assist with legal issues involving agents (e.g., compensation disputes, fiduciary breaches)
- Legal Administration:
- Organize and maintain legal files (contracts, disputes, litigation)
- Contract Review:
- Review and edit basic legal documents including NDAs, vendor agreements, listing agent agreements, and insurance forms
- Insurance Administration:
- Assist with E&O Insurance administration.
- Systems Support (Nice to Have):
- Assist with CRM or Legal Matter Management System implementation or maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVES):
- 5-8 years of paralegal experience, residential real estate experience
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral
- Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
NICE TO HAVE:
- Exposure to E&O insurance process is a plus
- Experience with a CRM or Legal Matter Management System implementation or maintenance
