Major, Lindsey & Africa has an immediate need for an Interim Healthcare Contracts Attorney
Overview: Our Non-Profit Hospital System Client is looking for a skilled Contracts Attorney.
Company: A leading academic medical centers and one of the largest independent teaching hospitals in the country.
Experience: 8 years of general commercial contracts within a healthcare system
Location: Hybrid (in office 3 days a week) or Remote if candidate is very strong
Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, negotiate, and amend a variety of commercial agreements.
- Analyze and address assignment, consent, and change-of-control provisions in connection with the pending acquisition.
- Assist with contract inventory, organization, and diligence efforts.
- Review contract renewals, amendments, and related contractual obligations.
- Support legal and operational stakeholders regarding contract interpretation and risk assessment.
- Maintain and manage contract records and key agreement data.
- Coordinate with members of the legal department and business teams on contract-related matters.

- Facilities and service contracts
- Equipment agreements
- Leases and occupancy arrangements
- Master service agreements
- General commercial contracts
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership
- Minimum 8 years of relevant contracts experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare system, hospital, academic medical center, or healthcare-related organization required.
- Strong background handling sophisticated commercial agreements with minimal supervision.
- Ability to independently manage a substantial contracts workload.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, integrations, or organizational transitions is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Practical, business-oriented approach to legal issues.
- Hospital or healthcare system legal department experience.
- Experience reviewing contracts affected by mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, or organizational restructurings.
- Familiarity with operational healthcare contracts and vendor relationships.
- Comfort collaborating with cross-functional business and operational teams.
Hourly Rate: $100/hour
Individual compensation offered for this position within the pay range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
