Overview
The Safety & Security department is seeking a Manager to support the League’s security operations, including domestic and international matches. This role works closely with the Soccer Security Agent Program, monitoring security compliance and fan code of conduct incidents, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
They will support development of policy and procedures, proportionate coverage according to risk, and coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safe delivery of all MLS and SUM events.
Responsibilities
- Apply an intelligence-led, risk-based approach to ensure sufficient and appropriate resources are deployed.
- Assist with the Soccer Security Agent (and Regional) Program, including recruitment, training, and retention.
- Lead all aspects of the security incident database related to league-wide fan misconduct, ensuring accurate follow-up and dispositions are driven at the league and club level.
- Assist with current and past trends related to security incidents and find opportunities to update security policies and procedures.
- Liaise daily with all MLS Clubs on incident investigation, tracking and documentation of discipline.
- Monitor information received from a variety of reports, including match-day reporting, venue assessments and handling periodic reporting.
- Assist as needed with:
- venue assessments
- hostile vehicle mitigation standards
- static crowd protection and
- Red Team audit follow ups.
- Review available information and provide ongoing security recommendations related to venue security protocols
- Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Business, Analytics or a related field required
- 5 years of experience in Safety & Security (Sports)

- Work in a decentralized landscape with minimal direction
- High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of sport event safety and security
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses
