The Baseball Instructor will assist in all activities relating to MLB Youth Academy baseball instruction

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of all baseball instruction including workouts, camps, clinics, gameplay, etc.
  • Assist the Coordinator, Baseball Instruction in selecting players for travel teams, showcases, camps, etc.
  • Help to coordinate all baseball activities and organize schedules for baseball instruction
  • Help to coordinate, facilitate and organize all baseball workouts, camps and clinics
  • Coach Academy baseball teams in workouts and gameplay as necessary
  • Submit reports to the Coordinator, Baseball Instruction as deemed necessary
  • Perform assigned tasks for special events and programs as directed by Coordinator, Baseball Instruction or Academy Director

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience as a player, coach or instructor
  • Organized, efficient and consistent positive communication skills
  • Team player ready to take direction
  • Solid organizational and scheduling skills
  • Possess the ability to organize baseball workouts and gameplay
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs, and computer scheduling programs
  • Able to instruct all facets of baseball

Travel: 25% local overnight travel expected around All Star and Spring Break events.

Pay Range: $20.50 - $23.00 per hour

The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
