Major Food Group is seeking dynamic, service-oriented Hospitality Interns to join our team and provide support to one of the fastest-growing restaurant groups in the world!
MFG’s internship immerses candidates into the Hospitality industry and gives them the opportunity to enhance their education and work experience related to Restaurant operations. Interns will establish meaningful contacts, improve the quality of their work product through comprehensive feedback, and aspire to develop a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.
This is a 10 week hands-on learning program designed to help you build a foundational set of hospitality skills and general business acumen that will set you up for success beyond your internship. Program Description:
- Program will commence on June 2nd and conclude August 8th. Interns will spend 10 weeks rotating between various areas, executing and observing day-to-day work in assigned department
- Interns will work full-time 30 - 40 hours per week during the 10-week program, please note that schedules may include nights and weekends
- Learn the operational workings of each department through hands on practical experience, observation of team members, participation in meetings, asking questions, and special department projects
- Opportunity to gain real-life experience in the hospitality industry through hands on training in fast paced restaurant industry
- Professional development and targeted growth opportunities through frequent feedback and coaching
- Weekly meetings with leadership team and hospitality interns throughout portfolio
- Comply with company policies and procedures of each department in satisfactory manner
- Group project presentation at conclusion of program
Requirements:
- A minimum of one year of hospitality, retail or other customer service experience is required
- Actively pursuing degree or recent graduate within last academic year
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include some weekends and holidays
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and balance priorities and multiple products to hit timelines
- Housing and transportation costs are the responsibility of the intern.
We are currently hiring Summer Interns for our following departments:
Restaurant Management: Restaurant Management Interns shadow General Managers, learning day-to-day restaurant operations and rotating between locations to gain exposure to different concepts.
Beverage Operations: Beverage Operations Interns split time between office and restaurant environments, learning about beverage programs, wine lists, and sommelier operations.
Culinary: Culinary Interns work alongside Major Food Group’s chefs, gaining hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking techniques, and professional kitchen operations.
Human Resources: Human Resources Interns support recruitment, employee relations, and talent initiatives while learning about HR operations within a hospitality organization.
Information Technology: Information Technology Interns assist with system support, troubleshooting, and technology maintenance to help ensure smooth operations across the company.
Purchasing: Purchasing Interns work with vendors and internal teams, participate in tastings and meetings, and support sourcing efforts that improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Events: Events Interns assist in planning and executing events, supporting logistics, client communication, and on-site coordination.
Marketing: Marketing Interns support brand strategy and creative initiatives across Major Food Group’s portfolio, contributing to campaigns and brand engagement efforts.
Guest Experience: Guest Experience Interns support service excellence by managing guest insights, assisting with initiatives, and contributing ideas to enhance the overall guest journey.
Restaurant Development: Restaurant Development Interns support new and existing projects, assisting with concept development, design coordination, and vendor collaboration.
Business Development: Business Development Interns support growth initiatives by researching opportunities, analyzing data, and building financial projections to inform expansion decisions.
Finance: Finance Interns support financial operations, vendor relations, and reporting while learning the financial structure behind restaurant and hospitality management.
Facilities Management: Facilities Management Interns assist with behind-the-scenes operations that impact restaurant functionality, maintenance, and guest experience.
Executive Office: Executive Office Interns work on cross-functional projects focused on guest loyalty, revenue growth, and operational strategy, often involving data analysis and financial modeling.
