Maize in Champaign, IL is looking for a motivated and dependable Support Staff member to join our growing team! Responsibilities:
- Prepare dining areas before, during, and after service by setting tables, restocking supplies, and maintaining clean service stations.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly to support efficient table turnover and a polished guest experience.
- Deliver food accurately and promptly from the kitchen to guests, confirming table numbers, modifications, and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room, entryway, restrooms, kitchen pass, and other guest-facing areas.
- Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and managers to coordinate seating, food delivery, table readiness, and special guest needs.
- Support the host stand by greeting guests, managing waitlists, answering basic questions, and helping maintain an organized seating flow.
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures, including proper handling of dishes, glassware, and cleaning materials.
- Uphold the restaurant’s standards for hospitality, appearance, teamwork, and customer service.
Requirements:
- No prior experience required — a positive attitude and willingness to learn are a must
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks
