chool Nurses promote overall health and well-being and work to minimize

absences due to illness. We are seeking experienced nurses who can fill

in when a full-time nurse is not available.

Along with traditional school nurses, there are also nurses dedicated to

caring for students with special needs such those with feeding tubes.\

A Day In The Life

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Assess health concerns
• Communicate appropriate health information to staff, parents, and
  
  

physicians

• Respond to life saving situations
• Assist with school health services such as vision, hearing, and
  
  

dental screenings

• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with district, state and
  
  

federal laws

• Performs other duties as assigned in order to ensure an effective,
  
  

orderly, and safe environment

Successful Candidates

• ****Pass a background check****
• ****Have a current TB test****
• ****Active Kansas Registered Nurse license****
• 3 years of experience as an RN - hospital or clinic experience
  
  

Preferred

• Have basic computer skills
• Work well with others
• Can work in a noisy and sometimes crowded environment
• Can spend prolonged time sitting or standing Some time is spent
  
  

lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching,

and using finger dexterity.
