Part-Time Bartender - Craft Cocktails & Modern Mexican Restaurant

Maize Cocina & Cocktails is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven bartender to join our team in downtown Westfield, NJ.

We are an independently owned, chef-driven modern Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar located in the historic Westfield Train Station. Our bar program is an important part of the Maize experience, with a focus on thoughtfully crafted cocktails, tequila and mezcal, fresh ingredients, and warm, energetic hospitality.

We’re looking for a bartender who is confident behind a busy bar, genuinely enjoys connecting with guests, and understands that great bartending is equal parts beverage knowledge, speed, organization and hospitality.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer and spirits consistently and efficiently
• Deliver knowledgeable, engaging service to bar guests
• Learn and execute Maize signature cocktails according to recipe and presentation standards
• Develop working knowledge of tequila, mezcal and our broader beverage program
• Provide thoughtful food and beverage recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked bar throughout service
• Complete opening, closing and side-work responsibilities
• Accurately handle POS transactions and guest checks
• Follow responsible alcohol-service and food-safety standards
• Work closely with bartenders, servers, management and the culinary team to create a seamless guest experience
• Participate in tastings, training and continued beverage education
• Support special events, cocktail dinners and high-volume restaurant nights as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Previous bartending experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant or cocktail bar strongly preferred
• Strong cocktail fundamentals and willingness to learn
• Genuine interest in spirits, particularly tequila and mezcal
• Warm, confident and professional guest presence
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dependable, organized and punctual
• Comfortable working nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to remain composed and hospitable during high-volume service
