What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumber Lead position at MAINTENANCE?
PRIMARY PURPOSE: A working Plumber that provides direction and guidance when Foreman is not available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required
- Ability to speak, read and understand the English language
- Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirement
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
261 days
SALARY/PAYGRADE:
$30.67/HS-12
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Minimum 7 years experience in the trade
- Complete working knowledge of codes and ordinances concerning Plumbing systems
- Read, comprehend and edit specifications and prints for new construction
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform all responsibilities of a Plumber I, II, III and IV
- Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees
- Serve as first contact for problems, concerns or grievances
- Make recommendations concerning advancement and discipline of staff to Foreman
- Approve purchases, work orders and daily business when Foreman is not available
- Meet with Foreman daily to review and update jobs
- Coordinate and assist in department with modifications, work orders, emergencies and large projects as needed to complete assignments
- Perform other duties assigned by Foreman
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
- Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
- Be available for after hour demands, subject to 24 hour responsibility.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Ability to work alone.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
