The Maintenance - Lead Grounds is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team, working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a outdoor environment, overseen by Director of Maintenance, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED |
|
Must possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving record |

Knowledge of tractors, grasses, landscaping, shrubs, and fertilizers |
|
Knowledge of approved pesticides and herbicides and application |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Coordinate and lead groundskeepers under the supervision of the Maintenance Director/Maintenance Supervisor |
|
Develop a consistent cutting schedule and accurate pesticide application records |
|
Ensure contract services are performed routinely as required by contract documents |
|
Perform quality control inspections of all work |
|
Safely load, unload, and secure all equipment, tools, and other items to be transported, either by vehicle or trailer |
|
Mow, trim, prune, mulch, seed, fertilize, weed, and plan in a manner which will maintain an esthetically pleasing appearance of the grounds |
|
Apply pre-emergent, herbicides and pesticides appropriately |
|
Pick up and deliver a variety of furniture, equipment, supplies and materials, debris and waste materials including large surplus items and scrap metal to appropriate facility for disposal or recycling |
|
Deliver equipment and various materials to warehouse facilities as requested; tag, shelve and store items in appropriately |
|
Monitor inventory levels of maintenance and grounds materials and supplies |
|
Communicate problems/concerns with equipment to appropriate manager/supervisor |
|
Make recommendations which will improve job performance and/or equipment reliability as appropriate |
|
Maintain all tools and equipment used in performance of job responsibilities |
|
Estimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobs |
|
Maintain materials inventory and order materials as directed |
|
Report immediately to supervisor any potential facility safety issues |
|
Communication with supervisors, and other staff is professional, accurate, and timely |
|
Work without constant direction and is efficient in utilizing time |
|
Completes required work tickets, reports, daily log, in a manner that is accurate and completed within required timelines |
|
Work is completed in a professional manner and consistent with PCSD maintenance department guidelines. |
|
Demonstrates sound judgement and is professional in dress, word, and actions. |
|
Professional on the job site which includes timely arrival/departure, maintaining appropriate safety measures, site is clean, and regular communication with supervisors and school administration. |
