Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Banquet & Event Set-Up
- Supervise and coordinate the banquet set-up team for all meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events.
- Organize and delegate work assignments based on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event diagrams.
- Ensure function spaces are set according to contract specifications including tables, staging, dance floors, buffets, bars, and audio-visual requirements.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all banquet equipment and storage areas.
- Conduct pre-event room inspections to verify proper set-up and readiness.
- Ensure timely breakdown of events and proper storage of equipment and furniture.
- Train and monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to departmental standards and safety procedures.
- Meet with clients or event managers when necessary to confirm event requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Oversee all concert and amphitheater set-up operations including seating layouts, VIP areas, bar locations, and hospitality spaces.
- Supervise the installation and removal of concert seating, tables, tents, barricades, and crowd-flow layouts.
- Coordinate with security, production teams, engineering, and event management to ensure safe and efficient event operations.
- Ensure proper placement of bars, concession areas, and service stations in accordance with event diagrams and safety regulations.
- Monitor safe movement and installation of staging equipment, tables, and heavy furniture.
- Coordinate loading dock operations and staging equipment for event production teams.
- Ensure all concert equipment and set-up inventory (chairs, tables, barricades, tents, etc.) is accounted for before and after events.
- Supervise post-event breakdown and restoration of the amphitheater and surrounding event spaces.
- Schedule and supervise AM/PM set-up teams based on event volume.
- Train staff in proper lifting techniques, equipment handling, and safety compliance.
- Maintain inventory of banquet and concert set-up equipment and report shortages or repairs needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with banquet captains, event managers, engineering, and hotel leadership to ensure successful event execution.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move heavy banquet equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and late-night concert schedules.
- High School diploma or higher
- Previous banquet operations experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads
- Make sound judgments quickly
- Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines
- Able to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others
- Manage differing personalities within the office, the hotel, and the community
