We’re seeking a Collections Specialist to join our Lending team and play a key role in reducing delinquency while supporting members with empathy, professionalism, and practical solutions.
As a Collections Specialist, you’ll manage delinquent consumer loans, mortgages, and credit card accounts, working directly with members to develop repayment solutions that work for everyone. You’ll collaborate closely with the VP of Lending and the Collections Manager along with fellow team members to ensure effective collection strategies area always with compliance, fairness, and member service top of mind.
What You’ll Do
- Manage delinquent consumer loans, mortgages, and credit card accounts
- Contact members via phone, text, and email to negotiate custom repayment plans
- Maintain accurate loan records and delinquency documentation
- Prepare and process repossession, auction, and collateral documentation
- Process payments, insurance checks, GAP cancellations, and recovery items
What You Bring
- 1–3 years of collections or related financial services experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication, negotiation, and documentation skills
- Comfort working with members experiencing financial hardship
- Experience with repossessions preferred
- Mortgage, commercial collections, estate, or Small Claims experience a plus
