Position Title: KVCC Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach
Supervisor: Athletic Director
Salary $2,000, ($1,000, fall semester, $1,000, spring semester)
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Summary: The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach supports all aspects of program. The Assistant Coach will help build and sustain a competitive program while fostering academic success, leadership, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required or equivalent combination of training and coaching experience
- Successful coaching and recruiting experience are required; at the collegiate level is preferred
- Current CPR/AED certification, or ability to attain
- Clean driving record required
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading team practices, workouts, and player development sessions.
- Teach basketball fundamentals, team systems, and offensive/defensive strategies.
- Support game preparation through scouting, film breakdown, and opponent analysis.
- Assist with game-day coaching, bench management, and in-game adjustments.
- Promote strength, conditioning, and injury prevention for student-athletes.
- Help identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who fit KVCC’s culture.
- Build and maintain recruiting relationships with coaches across Maine and New England.
- Support student-athlete academic success, retention, personal growth, and connection to campus resources.
- Assist with program operations including travel, equipment, scheduling, and events/camps
- Maintain compliance with institutional and athletic policies while fostering a professional, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
