Position Overview
The Processing Assistant performs and supports the extraction operations of the facility by adhering to operation, technical, and quality control policies and guidelines. They maintain excellent personal hygiene, workspace cleanliness, and quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product in accordance with the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control and standards set by facility policies.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment and raw material for extraction.
- Execute extraction and processing in accordance with state and local standards.
- Operate sophisticated processing equipment.
- Assist with pre- and post-processing, including but not limited to dry sifting and loading socks.
- Ensure the consistency of product through quality control testing and procedures.
- Clean and maintain processing equipment and manufacturing facility.
- Maintain good documentation practices in production, equipment maintenance, cleaning, and all other applicable areas.
- Dispose of lab waste in accordance with established guidelines.
- Complete the cleaning and sanitization of all production equipment, work surfaces, and tools.
- Maintain material safety data sheets for all chemicals and products.
- Maintenance and repair of all equipment in the extraction room.
- Follow laboratory safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science discipline preferred.
- Additional education or experience working in a laboratory setting preferred.
- Understanding of and/or ability to learn/understand state and local laws.
- Understanding of and/or ability to learn/understand proper and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with separations, isolations, and fractionation or the concepts thereof.
- Knowledge of solvent and solventless extraction methods or the ability to learn and understand such methods.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to manage time and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to follow protocols and procedures.
- Willingness to work in a variety of environments, including cold rooms and those requiring personal protective equipment.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass FBI/BCI background check.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
