Supervisor of Academic Support & Team Integration

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Supervisor of Academic Support & Team Integration assists the Directors, Supervisors, Coordinators of Instruction, and educators in implementing and monitoring all schoolwide co-teaching initiatives. The Supervisor of Academic Support & Team Integration must be a skilled supervisor of diverse staff and be able to work collaboratively with school administrators, teachers, and staff.

Esperanza Cyber Charter School Mission

Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS) prepares students in grades Kindergarten through 12 to meet the challenges of living creatively and productively in an increasingly technologically sophisticated and interconnected world. ECCS will provide students with an academically rigorous yet flexible online learning program that tailors learning experiences to each child through curriculum choices and virtual and in-person tutoring and counseling. ECCS targets underserved and at-risk students who have not always found success in traditional schools. ECCS places students on a pathway to post-secondary success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in a related field
• PA PRINCIPAL CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
• A strong background in effectively implementing intervention strategies, differentiated instruction, or English Language Development experience.
• At least five years of experience in the education field, part of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience in an urban setting with high percentages of ELD and SPED students
• A passion for education and a belief that your zip code does not dictate your destiny

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build capacity in understanding intervention strategies and how to apply the best online teaching and learning practices.
• Serve as a resource for colleagues and school leadership.
• Oversee multiple teams and ensure they are aligned toward the overall schools mission/vision
• Serve as the initial point of contact regarding academic support, co-teaching, and team integration.
• Organize and facilitate necessary procedures and protocols for the best practices of co-teaching in an online environment
• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a schoolwide co-teaching model
• Provide training for all teachers on how they can implement co-teaching with fidelity in every classroom.
  • Evaluate academic support staff and PA-certified staff in how co-teaching is implemented
  • Coach teachers in the best practices of co-teaching virtually
  • Provide input to a teacher’s evaluation regarding coachability and improvement of teaching practice.
• Support academic support staff in onboarding, conducting team meetings, and team integration
• Manage school climate, develop staff morale, and provide excellent customer service to parents.
• Work with educators to develop lessons and activities that best support co-teaching

• Ability to write reports, formal correspondence, and other documents that conform to prescribed style and format.

• Ability to respectfully and effectively respond to common inquiries, concerns, or complaints from parents, students, and staff.
• Ability to lead and motivate the staff to meet critical deadlines and cope with severe time constraints – frequently interacting with students and staff through irregular and extended work hours
