What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate position at Mail & Parcel?
Join a Boutique Shipping, Print & Retail Team
For more than 30 years, Wingspan Mail & Parcel has proudly served the Scottsdale community with personalized shipping, professional packing, mailbox services, printing, and other business services—all with the personal attention of a locally owned neighborhood business.
We’re looking for a Sales & Print Associate who is great with people, comfortable with technology, and genuinely detail-oriented. This position combines customer service, shipping, and retail responsibilities with an increasing focus on our growing print business.
If you enjoy learning new technology, have an eye for detail, and like the variety of working on something different every day, you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
What You’ll Do (And Love Doing)
Customer Care That Counts
- · Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
- · Help customers with shipping, package drop-offs, mailbox rentals, notary services, printing and other business services.
- · Listen to what customers need and help them find the right solution.
- · Go the extra mile to make sure customers leave feeling helped and confident in the service they received.
Shipping, Packing & Mailboxes
- · Pack items safely and professionally using our ProPack techniques—we’ll train you.
- · Use our PostalMate system to prepare shipments and help customers compare shipping options.
- · Accurately sort incoming mail and packages and manage mailbox services.
- · Follow carrier requirements and store procedures carefully.
Printing & Technology
- · Assist customers with printing, copying, scanning and basic document preparation.
- · Help prepare customer files for digital printing.
- · Operate our professional digital printing and finishing equipment after training.
- · Assist with cutting, folding, binding and other print finishing.
- · Review files and finished pieces carefully for accuracy and quality.
- · Work comfortably with PDFs, digital files and computer-based workflows.
- · Use—or be able to quickly learn—programs such as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Canva.
- · Troubleshoot basic file and technology issues and be willing to learn new software and equipment as our services evolve.
Previous print-shop or graphic-design experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are looking for someone who is naturally comfortable with technology and can learn new programs and processes quickly.
Sales & Retail
- · Confidently tell customers about services and products that may be useful to them.
- · Ring up purchases and manage the cash register accurately.
- · Help keep the store neat, stocked, organized and looking professional.
- · Look for ways to help customers rather than simply completing a transaction.
Who You Are
- · People-First – You enjoy helping people and know how to communicate with customers.
- · Tech-Savvy – Computers and software don’t intimidate you. You’re comfortable figuring things out and learning new programs.
- · Detail-Oriented – You notice the little things, whether it’s an address on a shipment, a customer’s print file or your cash drawer.
- · Honest & Accountable – You follow procedures and do the right thing even when no one is watching.
- · Self-Motivated & Adaptable – You can keep up in an environment where shipping regulations, software and procedures change regularly.
- · Eager to Learn – You take training seriously and are willing to learn everything from professional packing to digital print production.
- · Not Afraid to Sell – You’re comfortable recommending services and solutions when they genuinely meet a customer’s needs.
- · Team-Oriented – You’re dependable, pitch in and understand that in a small business everyone helps where needed.
The Fine Print (a.k.a. Must-Haves)
- · Must be reliable and on time.
- · Must record work hours accurately and honestly.
- · Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet during shifts.
- · Must be, or be willing to become, an Arizona Notary Public.
- · Must be comfortable using computers, software and technology throughout the workday.
- · Must be able and willing to learn new software, equipment and procedures.
- · Must be able to multitask and work independently once trained.
- · Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, graphic design, digital printing or print production is a definite plus.
What We Offer
- · Part-time schedule of approximately 15–20 hours per week.
- · Starting wage of $17 per hour.
- · Hands-on training in shipping, packing, mailboxes and professional digital printing.
- · A varied workday where you’ll learn and use a wide range of skills.
- · A friendly, locally owned small-business environment.
If you’re dependable, great with customers, comfortable with technology and interested in learning the printing side of the business, we’d love to hear from you.
