What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operators position at Maier Farms, LLC?
Workers will assist in the full agricultural season at a diversified crop farm producing corn, soybeans, and sugar beets. Duties include preparing and maintaining farm equipment in February and March to ensure readiness for the growing season. From April through November, responsibilities include planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, irrigating, and harvesting crops. Workers will also haul crops using farm vehicles, clean and service equipment, and perform basic mechanical tasks to maintain machinery. Operation of large agricultural machinery is required, including tractors, planters, harvesters, and sprayers. Workers must follow safety guidelines and directions from supervisors. Employment is at-will, but the employer typically follows an escalatory disciplinary process prior to termination. This process includes at least one written warning to the employee regarding performance or conduct. If issues persist, a formal notice of termination may be issued. Workers are expected to meet performance and conduct standards throughout the contract period. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
