Summary of Position: Full-time role supporting a delinquent tax collection team. You will help keep Sheriff Sale matters moving from intake through file closure, assist with preparation and tracking of case documentation and costs, and support commercial real estate closing activities for a title insurance agency. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working with time-sensitive deadlines and legal/real-estate documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Administrative Assistant/Paralegal — Sheriff Sales (Approx. 80%)
- Track Sheriff Sale files from intake through reporting and file closure; maintain organized, audit-ready records.
- Support Sheriff Sale tasks end-to-end, including drafting and assembling pleadings and other legal documents for review.
- Review title searches and related property documentation for matters scheduled for Sheriff Sale.
- Track Sheriff Sale costs and expenses and compile documentation to support timely client reimbursement.
- Coordinate and complete filings/deliveries with the Department of Court Records, Sheriff’s Office, and Department of Real Estate.
B. Support Staff — IT Department (Approx. 20%)
- Support IT Department with preparation of various reports related to the Sheriff Sales.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy with names, dates, costs, and filings.
- Strong organization skills, including the ability to maintain orderly electronic and paper files.
- Analytical comfort with numbers (e.g., tracking costs/expenses and reconciling documentation).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including professional correspondence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to learn case/closing tracking systems quickly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating with a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with real estate settlement/closing processes and reviewing title searches.
- Delinquent tax collection and/or law firm experience.
- Foreclosure experience.
