We are seeking a trustworthy, energetic Family and Personal Assistant to serve as a dependable extra pair of hands for a private family.

This hands-on role supports the principals, household, day-to-day personal needs, and events with a physical presence wherever help is needed. The FPA will work some days in the family home and some days in the Family Office, and must be comfortable shifting between family support, calendaring, errands, vendor coordination, driving, and practical household tasks.

The ideal candidate is warm, upbeat, fun, and highly reliable, with sound judgment and a genuine willingness to pitch in. They will be a key point person for the principals, taking ownership of delegated tasks and providing flexible backup to the family’s domestic team when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted point person for the principal, taking ownership of personal, family, household, and office tasks from start to finish
• Coordinate appointments, meetings, reservations, and family, school, household, and personal calendars
• Help with events: call and coordinate caterers, florists, vendors, and service providers; gather quotes and confirm details
• Assist with family and office meetings, including setup, ordering meals, vendor coordination, and greeting guests
• Support the children’s schedules and needs, including some driving to school, activities, appointments, and other destinations when needed
• Provide a reliable physical presence for the family and, during travel, remain at the residence with the children when requested
• Work flexibly between the family home and office, going wherever support is most needed rather than remaining desk-based
• Run errands, make purchases, handle returns, and manage other local tasks for the family
• Pitch in with light household tasks, including unloading the dishwasher or running a load of laundry when needed
• Assist with special projects and changing priorities
• Provide backup support to the housekeeper, driver, and other household staff as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience in a similar hands-on role supporting a private family, principal, or household
• Excellent verifiable references
• Trustworthy, dependable, discreet, and grounded, with strong judgment and a proactive work ethic
• Warm, upbeat, engaging, and comfortable working with children, family members, guests, household staff, and vendors
• A flexible “no task too small” attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
• Highly organized and able to manage changing priorities, follow through on details, and anticipate needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and experience driving children
• Available to work in both the family home and office and to provide occasional flexibility when the family travels or hosts events
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and generally tech savvy

Compensation and Terms

• Base compensation $85,000 to $100,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
• General work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional early or late starts
• Excellent benefits package includes an annual discretionary bonus, excellent health/dental/vision insurance, PTO, sick days, and NYSE holidays.
