Duties
- Provide daily care and supervision for dogs in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and outdoor spaces through regular cleaning and disinfecting
- Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint techniques and ensure their well-being during interactions
- Support pet sitting duties by monitoring dogs’ behavior, providing companionship, and ensuring their safety during their stay
- Engage in dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization skills
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or assisting with outdoor work projects involving animals
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, kennels, or pet care facilities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of kennel technician or assistant responsibilities is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely manage dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in different weather conditions
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Capable of team lifting and performing physically demanding tasks involving animal care equipment or supplies
