Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each animal's breed and individual needs
- Handle animals safely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene maintenance tasks with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with dog training exercises or behavioral assessments as needed to support overall pet well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment for pets and staff
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client questions or concerns professionally and courteously
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming or related animal care fields such as veterinary technician or assistant work
- Strong dog handling skills along with animal handling experience across various species including equine or other companion animals preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures such as animal restraint, pet nail trimming, and basic health assessments is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as large dogs or equipment safely and comfortably
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming needs and pet care advice
- Experience with kennel management or pet sitting is a plus for understanding comprehensive animal care routines
- A genuine passion for animals combined with a positive attitude and attention to detail
