We're seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our Oncology team in delivering exceptional, patient-centered cancer care. In this role, you will provide both clinical and administrative support, assist providers with patient care, coordinate treatment-related services, and help ensure a seamless experience for patients throughout their oncology journey. What You'll Do
Clinical Patient Care
- Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with transfers, specimen collection, and exam preparation.
- Collect patient histories, vital signs, and other clinical information while assessing patient condition.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, treatments, injections, and order entry.
- Document interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Patient Coordination & Experience
- Obtain prior authorizations and pre-certifications to support timely patient care.
- Manage referrals and coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures through the EMR.
- Provide patient education materials and communicate physician instructions to patients and families.
- Deliver compassionate, service-focused support throughout each patient visit.
Clinical Collaboration & Operations
- Label, document, and track laboratory specimens and test results according to established protocols.
- Complete same-day charting to ensure accurate, organized medical records and timely billing.
- Support quality and interoperability initiatives while partnering with providers and clinical staff.
- Prepare exam rooms, maintain infection prevention standards, and ensure equipment is ready for patient care.
Systems & Administration
- Clean and maintain medical equipment, including sterilizers, according to scheduled maintenance protocols.
- Organize, stock, and monitor clinical supplies to support efficient daily operations and cost-effective patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Oncology team and patient care operations.

Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience obtaining vital signs, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection prevention, patient confidentiality, and medical office procedures.
Preferred
- Two or more years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice, specialty clinic, or oncology setting.
- Experience with oncology workflows, referrals, prior authorizations, and infusion scheduling.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential.
- Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and medical scribing.
