Magpies Bakery is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being the "face" of a local favorite, we want to meet you!
What You’ll Do:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously; provide assistance with product selection and order inquiries.
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, including cash handling, credit/debit card processing, and gift card sales.
- Assist customers with special orders, including cakes, catering, and event requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer questions regarding orders, products, pricing, and availability.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain product displays, bakery cases, and front-of-house areas in a clean, organized, and appealing manner.
- Package and label bakery products according to company standards.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Support bakery team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations, including performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
What We’re Looking For
- Experienced Pros: Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a hospitality role (2 years preferred).
- Cool Under Pressure: Someone who remains composed, positive, and efficient during high-volume peak hours.
- Detail-Oriented: Precision is everything when it comes to custom cake orders and labeling!
- Adaptable: A flexible team player who can pivot between tasks as the bakery’s needs change.
- Effective Communicator: Strong verbal skills for in-person guests and professional phone etiquette for orders & inquiries.
Schedule & Requirements
- Type: Full-time.
- Hours: Shifts are typically 7 to 8 hours.
- Note: Since weekends are our busiest times, weekend availability is required.
