Description
The Service Technician is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance on diesel engine semi-tractors and trailers.
Conduct routine and preventative maintenance tasks as needed on tractors and / or trailers.
Perform basic inspections and report potential issues to supervisors.
Follow checklists to ensure all routine maintenance tasks are completed accurately.
Troubleshoot and repair defects found during services or while addressing a driver complaint.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including tool and equipment management.
Provide support and train with more experienced technicians during repairs and diagnostics.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies while handling tools and chemicals.
Work as a team to help keep Magnum's equipment safe and running smoothly.
Requirements
Seeking an individual who has :
Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Technical knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software used to diagnose vehicle issues.
A solid grasp of local, state, and federal DOT laws, policies, and procedures for protecting people, data, property, and institutions.
Familiarity with transportation principles and methods for moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Time management skills for self and others.
The ability to communicate with other tractor shop employees and supervisors to rectify problems such as missing parts and time constraints.
Education / Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Diesel Engine Specialist or equivalent degree preferred but not necessary.
Two years of experience in a complementary position preferred but not necessary.
Will provide training for entry-level technicians.
Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not necessary.
