Job Summary
The Preschool Teacher will create a warm, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment where young children can grow spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. This individual will model Christian values in their teaching and interactions while implementing developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum.
Responsibilities Spiritual & Emotional Nurturing:
- Model Christ-like behavior in all interactions with children, parents, and staff
- Integrate biblical principles, prayer, and worship into daily routines
- Support children in their spiritual development through faith-based stories, songs, and discussions
Classroom Management & Instruction:
- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized learning environment
- Plan and implement engaging lessons that support early childhood development and incorporate faith-based themes
- Guide children in developing positive social interactions, problem-solving skills, and self-regulation
- Use age-appropriate instructional strategies to support a range of developmental levels
- Maintain a clean and orderly classroom
Communication & Teamwork:
- Build strong relationships with families, offering consistent communication and support
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers, floaters, and administrative staff
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Provide regular updates and progress reports on student development
Health & Safety:
- Supervise children closely at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional safety
- Follow all licensing regulations and school policies
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and behavior records
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and report incidents per policy
Qualifications
- A love for Jesus and a heart for teaching young children
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn state childcare licensing standards and best practices
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, sit on the floor, and engage physically with young children
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Must pass background checks and meet all training and certification requirements
