About the role: The Mechanical Engineering Manager leads the functional team responsible for the mechanical and structural design, analysis, development, and validation of magniX’s electric powertrain products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical direction and guidance to the Structural and Mechanical Engineering team.
- Ensure alignment of design, development, analysis methodologies and lifecycle management with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
- Leading the team to produce the necessary compliance documentation for FAA certification.
- Support compliance with safety, life and reliability requirements and FAA guidelines/advisory circulars, supporting the certification of magniX’s electric powertrain products.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including Aerospace Structural, Mechanical, Rotating Machinery and design Engineers.
- Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for team members.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with systems, simulation and modelling, electrical and engineering teams to ensure clear communication and integrated product development.
- Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Functional Group Management:
- Oversee the lifecycle of mechanical, structural, and rotating components within magniX’s powertrain products, from requirements capture to design, testing, and certification.
- Maintain close communication with stakeholders, managing resource allocation within the functional team and providing updates on progress and technical challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 7 years’ experience in managing and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams,
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience producing complex aerospace design packages using SolidWorks and PDM systems.
- Experience performing detailed structural analysis using classical hand calculations and computer-based tools to assess static strength, fatigue life and crack growth and dynamic responses.
- Experience in the validation of Finite Element Models.
- Knowledge of aerospace certification regulations such CFR 14 Part 33 and standards such as ARP4754A.
- Background in power semiconductor technologies (Si/SiC) and analog/digital circuit design.
Location: Applicants must be willing and able to commute to magniX's location in Everett, Washington.

Salary Range: $170k-$230k
