Duties
- Use barcode scanning technology and RF scanners to accurately pick orders according to specifications.
- Operate material handling equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling tools to load, unload, and transport goods safely.
- Pack products securely using appropriate packaging materials, ensuring items are protected during transit.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, updating inventory management systems, and conducting regular stock counts for accuracy.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and preparing items for dispatch.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper manual handling techniques.
- Support warehouse distribution efforts by organizing products efficiently for order fulfillment and ensuring quality control standards are met.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment with familiarity in warehouse operations and distribution processes.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, RF scanners, and inventory management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively while lifting heavy items regularly.
- Experience in order picking & packing, shipping & receiving procedures, and quality control practices is preferred.
- Strong basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately.
- Previous warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is a plus but not required; a proactive attitude toward safety and efficiency is essential.
