Location: Danbury, CT (Hybrid)

We are recruiting a talented Controller to join our client, a fast-growing international chemicals manufacturer. The Controller will oversee a global accounting team and multiple manufacturing facilities across the US and overseas, strengthen internal controls, and improve finance processes across several entities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Holds a degree in Accounting; CPA designation is highly desirable
• Demonstrates a robust background in financial systems with strong analytical acumen
• Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Comfortable working with ERP platforms; able to engage effectively across departments
• Self-starter capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
• Proven leadership ability with a track record in developing and guiding finance teams
• Skilled in drafting and enforcing accounting standards and internal controls

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in general accounting, preferably within a complex or manufacturing-focused organization (standard costing preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing accounting professionals
• Familiarity with operations spanning multiple legal entities and currencies
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred but not mandatory)

Core Responsibilities:

• Direct month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for accounting teams across international offices
• Manage day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and audit standards
• Identify and drive improvements to existing accounting procedures and workflows
• Oversee preparation of tax filings, sales tax returns, statutory submissions, and other regulatory requirements
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors across all relevant jurisdictions
• Lead cash flow forecasting and liquidity management activities
• Produce ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed
