Controller
Location: Danbury, CT (Hybrid)
We are recruiting a talented Controller to join our client, a fast-growing international chemicals manufacturer. The Controller will oversee a global accounting team and multiple manufacturing facilities across the US and overseas, strengthen internal controls, and improve finance processes across several entities.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Holds a degree in Accounting; CPA designation is highly desirable
- Demonstrates a robust background in financial systems with strong analytical acumen
- Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Comfortable working with ERP platforms; able to engage effectively across departments
- Self-starter capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
- Proven leadership ability with a track record in developing and guiding finance teams
- Skilled in drafting and enforcing accounting standards and internal controls
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in general accounting, preferably within a complex or manufacturing-focused organization (standard costing preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing accounting professionals
- Familiarity with operations spanning multiple legal entities and currencies
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred but not mandatory)
Core Responsibilities:
- Direct month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for accounting teams across international offices
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and audit standards
- Identify and drive improvements to existing accounting procedures and workflows
- Oversee preparation of tax filings, sales tax returns, statutory submissions, and other regulatory requirements
- Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors across all relevant jurisdictions
- Lead cash flow forecasting and liquidity management activities
- Produce ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
