Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Location: New York, Lower Manhattan (Hybrid - 4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Our client, a fast-growing digital media company, is seeking a hands-on FP&A leader to drive financial planning, reporting, and analysis across the business. This role combines strategic insight with operational execution, providing the leadership team with the data and guidance needed to make informed, high-impact decisions.
This position reports to the CFO and will be their first in-house FP&A hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the company’s financial model, including revenue projections, cost structures, and cash flow forecasts.
- Oversee the budgeting process and rolling forecasts, collaborating with all departments to ensure alignment.
- Design and deliver management reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to give leaders clear insight into performance.
- Analyze variances, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve business results.
- Support key business initiatives such as product launches, market expansion, and investment planning with financial analysis.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, scenario analyses, and reports for strategic decision-making.
- Optimize FP&A processes, tools, and systems to increase efficiency and support business growth.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or investment banking/private equity; experience in high-growth, tech, or media companies preferred.
- Proven track record building or scaling financial planning functions in dynamic environments.
- Expert-level financial modeling and Excel skills; capable of designing multi-scenario models independently.
- Strong communicator with experience preparing executive and board-ready materials.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Familiarity with financial planning software (e.g., Pigment, Anaplan, Mosaic) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to quickly understand complex business drivers and translate them into insights.
Salary : $200,000 - $235,000
