Position Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support our attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and capable of managing multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism.
Communication Skills
The position involves telephone contact in obtaining records and client updates.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings.
- Maintain and organize case files (electronic and physical) using our case management system FileVine.
- Assist with discovery, including drafting subpoenas, organizing exhibits, and managing document production.
- Schedule appointments, court dates, mediations, and client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, courts, adversaries, and vendors professionally.
- Perform legal research and gather relevant case-related information as needed.
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and attorney reminders.
- Handle administrative duties such as scanning, copying, mail distribution, and data entry.
Qualifications
- Law and Labor and Employment Law skills
- Experience in providing Legal Advice and conducting Legal Research
- Strong Negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in the state of New Jersey (New York admission is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Previous experience in personal injury law is a plus
- Excellent Leadership Skills. We are looking for future law partners.
