Position Overview

MAG Childcare and Learning Center is seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized Closer to support our afternoon and early-evening operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, helping maintain a clean and safe environment, and communicating warmly with families at pick-up time. This role is great for retirees, high school and college students, or anyone looking for a consistent part-time position.

Key Responsibilities Child Supervision & Parent Communication

• Supervise children safely and engage with them in a warm, positive manner.
• Ensure each child is clean and presentable before dismissal, including wiping faces and completing diaper changes as needed.
• Escort and release children to their parents at pick-up.
• Provide parents with a brief, friendly summary of their child’s day.

Cleaning & Closing Duties

• Clean and sanitize all toys, materials, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Wipe down tables, chairs, shelves, and classroom equipment.
• Sweep and mop classroom floors and hallway areas.
• Clean and organize the kitchen area, including wiping counters and ensuring dishes are washed or put away.
• Ensure classrooms are neat, orderly, and fully reset for the next day.
• Follow all MAG Childcare health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, professional attitude with children, staff, and parents.
• Report any concerns to the Director or Lead Teacher.
• Support a smooth and safe closing routine for the center each day.

Qualifications

• Must be available Monday–Friday from 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
• Experience in childcare is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Strong communication skills and a welcoming personality.
• Must pass all background checks and meet state childcare requirements.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during closing hours.
