Residential Property Accountant
About the Opportunity
An established real estate company is seeking a Property Accountant to support an assigned portfolio of residential properties. This individual will partner with property managers and accounting leadership to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reporting, and support budgeting and audit activities. Education reimbursement is available to support continued professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger activity and prepare journal entries.
- Support month-end close and prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and reporting packages.
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items.
- Maintain fixed asset records and support depreciation accounting.
- Assist with annual property budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits.
- Contribute to accounting projects and process improvements.
Qualifications
- At least two years of relevant accounting experience.
- Education in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with property management and accounting teams.
- Yardi experience is a plus.
