Collections Specialist
MON to FRI
40 hours week (1st & 2nd shifts available)
Salary: $21/HR Commissions ($500 -$5000 per month Uncapped )
About the Role
The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing the full collections cycle, communicating with customers about outstanding balances, and ensuring timely resolution of past-due accounts. This role requires professionalism, persistence, and strong attention to detail when managing both customer interactions and financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts through calls, emails, and written correspondence.
- Negotiate payment arrangements or settlements in alignment with company policies.
- Investigate account discrepancies, validate charges, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and account statuses within the CRM or collections system.
- Prepare weekly and monthly collections reports for management review.
- Escalate delinquent accounts based on established procedures.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance collections effectiveness and customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit, or a related role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations professionally.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial software; ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer lending, financial services, or call-center collections.
- Knowledge of debt-collection regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FDCPA).
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
