Position Overview

As a Barista at Maeze Coffee, you will be responsible for creating high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. Every interaction matters—our customers often start their day with us, and we take pride in making that experience memorable.

This position requires attention to detail, urgency, professionalism, and the ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet every customer with a welcoming and positive attitude
• Provide exceptional customer service and create a memorable experience
• Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations
• Accurately take orders and process transactions
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and respectfully
• Build relationships with regular customers and foster a welcoming atmosphere

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, matcha beverages, teas, Red Bull infusions, and specialty menu items
• Follow recipes and standards to ensure consistency and quality
• Steam milk properly and maintain beverage presentation standards
• Monitor beverage quality and remake drinks when necessary
• Learn and execute seasonal and limited-time menu offerings

Food Preparation

• Prepare and serve food items according to Maeze standards
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout food preparation areas

Cleaning & Organization

• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work environment at all times
• Complete daily cleaning tasks and side work
• Wash dishes and sanitize equipment regularly
• Restock supplies throughout shifts
• Assist with opening and closing procedures

Teamwork

• Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership
• Support team members during busy rushes
• Maintain a positive attitude even during high-volume periods
• Accept feedback and coaching professionally
• Contribute to a team culture built on respect, accountability, and excellence

Requirements

• Must be reliable and consistently show up on time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Weekend availability preferred
• Early morning availability required
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Previous coffee or customer service experience is a plus but not required
