This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be a self starter within a fast-paced, local friendly cafe. Available weekends and days starting September.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Assist with food preparation, including handling light culinary tasks and maintaining cleanliness in the food prep area
- Maintain cleanliness by adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures and ensuring all work areas are hygienic and organized
- Support food handling standards by following proper procedures for storage, serving, and dietary considerations
- Engage in in-person customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders, and providing product recommendations such as wine knowledge when appropriate
- Handle weight-based tasks such as portioning ingredients or managing inventory levels with care and accuracy
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality is REQUIRED; barista experience is a plus!!!
- Experience with operating kitchen or café equipment such as espresso machines, blenders, or ovens preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person.
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions and managing inventory or portioning ingredients
- Positive Attitude toward guests and others
- Ability to handle manual tasks, garbage, cleaning bathrooms, sinks and moping
