About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, managing key accounting operations, and assisting with audit and compliance activities. This position will play an important role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while helping to improve and scale accounting processes as the business continues to grow.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of several days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Ensure an accurate and timely month end close by providing management and support to the accounting close process.
- Serve as a hands-on team member responsible for performing and reviewing accounting transactions including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis related to daily cash transactions, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory and other key accounting responsibilities.
- Assist in providing support for annual audit activities with external auditors.
- Oversee and manage T&E policy compliance, process employee expense reports in SAP Concur and provide relevant accruals as needed.
- Oversee HR, payroll, benefit and other related expense journal entries and reports each payroll cycle.
- Manage day to day relationship with vendors including communication as well as ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices in Medius and NetSuite.
- Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies across core accounting and reporting processes and responsibilities.
- Partner with Finance, Marketing, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and accuracy of related financial results and reporting.
- Other ad hoc requests and projects as needs arise.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years’ accounting and reporting experience
- ERP experience; NetSuite experience a plus
- SAP Concur experience a plus
- Medius experience a plus
- Beauty industry experience a plus
- Manufacturing exposure a plus
What We Offer
$100,000/yr - $110,000/yr; exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus plan based on individual and company performance.
