Job Summary
We are looking for a Driller to perform Geotechnical and Environmental drilling. Duties include operating drill rigs, troubleshooting field issues, and evaluating project sites to assist with proposals.
Location: Largo, FL
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various drilling rigs for geotechnical and environmental projects with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
- Gather accurate field data and soil samples; maintain detailed field boring logs for analysis.
- Provide clear and timely updates to engineers and clients using the appropriate tools and systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment and address field challenges as they arise.
- Assist in evaluating site conditions and support project scoping when needed.
- Balance production goals with high standards for data integrity and safety.
Requirements
- 2 years’ drilling experience, with 1 year operating multiple types of rigs.
- Proficiency in mud-rotary and auger drilling; rock coring experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain drill rig and support equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety in both practice and documentation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and maneuver in tight workspaces.
- Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with USCS soil classification for field logging.
- High school diploma or GED.
