Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
- Support classroom management by supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play to ensure safety and positive behavior
- Provide individualized attention and tutoring to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Help create an inclusive classroom environment that adheres to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines and educational compliance standards
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences and support instructional activities
- Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, child toileting, and maintaining a clean, safe learning space
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices such as Montessori or private school methodologies
- Experience working with children in classroom settings, including behavior management and classroom behavior regulation techniques
- Knowledge of special education strategies, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Ability to supervise children effectively while demonstrating patience and empathy
- Familiarity with educational compliance regulations such as ESSA requirements and understanding of educational regulations
- Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support instruction and recordkeeping
- First aid and CPR certification to ensure safety during emergencies
- Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or providing additional academic support in literacy or math skills
- Strong organizational skills for proofreading documents, managing classroom materials, and tracking student progress
