Madison Regional Health System is seeking a full-time Nutrition Assistant to support our mission of providing quality healthcare close to home. Our Nutrition Assistant plays an essential role in the Dietary Department, helping ensure that patients, visitors, and staff receive healthy, well-prepared meals in a welcoming environment.
Position Overview
This role involves a blend of food preparation, patient meal service, and customer-facing duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Cooking and daily food preparation
· Assembling patient meal trays according to dietary guidelines
· Preparing and maintaining the cafeteria buffet line
· Operating the cash register and assisting customers
· Washing dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work area
· Providing support to patients, visitors, and staff as needed
Schedule & Work Environment
This full-time position offers a varied schedule that may include both day and evening shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays. Work is performed in a clean, well-lighted kitchen environment and requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion. The position involves lifting 10–35 lbs. and working around standard kitchen equipment, with possible exposure to heat, sharp objects, and electrical appliances.
