What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Unit- Psychiatric Tech-(RPT) position at Madison Memorial Hospital?
Implements and maintains patient care activities specific to the age and needs of the patient population served in the Behavioral Health Unit. This position provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients consistent with the department’s standards of care. They demonstrate performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization; remain flexible to changing systems; are expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.
Schedule: Regular Part Time
- 3 week shift rotation (Wk1: Tuesday, Thursday Wk2: Thursday, Saturday Wk3: Sunday, Tuesday)
- Day Shift

Required Skills:
1. Skills related to Psychiatric Technician.
2. Ability to become competent in electronic medical record and associated applications.
3. Basic computer skills.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. One year of experience in a health care setting preferred.
Minimum Education:
1. Healthcare provider BLS within one year of hire.
2. De-escalation training per facility requirement within one year of hire
