What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admitting Clerk-(PRN) position at Madison Memorial Hospital?
Madisonhealth is seeking to hire a dedicated and detailed oriented Admitting Clerk to complete the admission information into the Cerner Patient Accounting System. The incumbent will be required to maintain a high level of accuracy while pre-certifying appropriate hospital admissions, verify eligibility for patients using various applicants made available from insurance carriers and pre-admit all patients that are scheduled on the hospital scheduling system. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: maintaining recurring and offsite files, working discharge disposition reports, assisting with interviews and training, and completing inpatient insurance authorizations. The Admitting Clerk serves as the first point of contact for patients at MMH and must demonstrate a high level of professionalism consistent with our core values of Integrity, Respect, and Caring .
Classification: PRN
Schedule:
- Every other weekend, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 6:00pm-11:00pm
- Every other holiday
- Variable shifts as needed
Requirements
Previous Admitting/PBX experience, preferred
Previous Cerner Experience, preferred
Required Skills:

- Motivated to mentor peers
- Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Word, Excel, MS Publisher (or Equivalent) and PowerPoint
