This role is steady, hands-on work. You’ll spend most of your day moving between rooms, sharing quick conversations, offering reassurance, and making sure each resident receives their medications safely and on time. Responsibilities
- Administer medications accurately, following state standards and facility policy
- Document medication administration and track resident condition changes
- Support nursing and care staff with daily resident care as needed
- Monitor residents for side effects, side-issues, or concerns and report promptly
- Maintain medication cart organization and cleanliness
- Engage with residents, build rapport, offer reassurance, and foster a respectful environment
Skills
- Close attention to detail
- Comfort working in a busy, dynamic environment
- Clear and compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff
- Good organization and dependability over a long 12-hour shift
- Calm, steady judgment when handling medication and care tasks
Qualifications
- Active Texas CMA certification
- Ability to work the posted shift schedule (6AM-6PM, rotating)
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct
- Capability to assist residents with mobility or care needs, when required
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program
Experience Requirements
- Previous long-term care or post-acute care experience is a plus but not required
