Position Summary

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules across Madison-Kipp Corporation's manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with Sales, Production, Materials, Purchasing, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Tooling teams to balance customer demand, production capacity, inventory levels, and operational constraints. The Master Scheduler plays a key role in driving on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain master production schedules across die casting, machining, and finishing operations.
  • Translate customer demand, forecasts, and releases into daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
  • Balance production requirements with available capacity, labor, tooling, and material resources.
  • Establish production priorities to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Adjust schedules in response to equipment downtime, quality concerns, engineering changes, labor shortages, or changing customer demand.
  • Optimize production sequencing to improve machine utilization, reduce changeovers, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Conduct finite capacity planning and proactively identify production bottlenecks.
  • Maintain planning data within ERP/MRP systems, including lead times, capacities, inventory targets, and safety stock levels.
  • Monitor schedule performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to improve delivery performance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing required.
  • Experience in aluminum die casting, machining, automotive, or other complex manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems; Odyssey experience is a plus.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and effectively manage changing priorities.


Working Environment

This position is primarily based in an office setting with regular interaction throughout the manufacturing facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated production areas.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
  • Regularly communicate and collaborate with employees across the organization.
  • Occasionally stand, bend, reach, and walk throughout manufacturing facilities.
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
