Position Overview
The Parts Driver is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery and pick-up of automotive parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors. This role supports our parts and service departments by ensuring smooth logistics and maintaining clear communication.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with parts manager, wholesale representatives, inventory control, parts counter staff, and shipping/receiving personnel before departures.
- Check daily with the body shop to identify urgent parts needs.
- Deliver parts promptly to the body shop and distribute to technicians as required.
- Verify that invoices match purchase orders for each pick-up.
- Check payments received against invoices during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of daily deliveries and pick-ups, obtaining recipient signatures for proof of delivery.
- Unload the truck each evening, return all paperwork and undelivered parts.
- Perform basic truck maintenance, including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and ensuring inspections are up to date.
- Report any major mechanical issues to the parts manager promptly.
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Assist the service department with managing customer vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups as needed.
- Support stocking and posting of orders to ensure timely delivery to technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and report any accidents immediately to supervisors.
Work Environment and Schedule
This is a full-time position based in Clinton, NJ. The role requires dependable attendance and punctuality to meet scheduled deliveries and support operational needs.
