Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols.
- Monitor patients’ conditions continuously, recognize signs of deterioration or acute pain episodes, and escalate concerns promptly to physicians or senior staff.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease.
- Support infection control protocols and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in medical records and ensure compliance with coding standards such as ICD-10/ICD-9 for accurate billing and reporting.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification.
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to adult and geriatric populations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration (including injections), and basic life support (BLS).
- Familiarity with specialized care areas such as dementia care, Alzheimer’s care and emergency medicine procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with patients of all ages.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
