Overview:
Our client, a growth-oriented commercial banking platform with a strong presence in specialized lending, is looking to add a Portfolio Manager within its Structured Finance group. This individual will take ownership of a portfolio of asset-backed and cash flow-driven transactions, working closely with coverage teams on underwriting, credit monitoring, and ongoing portfolio strategy. The role offers strong deal exposure and the opportunity to play a key part in managing risk across a diverse lending book.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of structured and specialty finance credits, with a focus on cash flow-based lending across various asset classes
- Partner with Relationship Managers to underwrite new transactions, amendments, and refinancing opportunities
- Prepare detailed credit memoranda for new originations, renewals, and portfolio modifications
- Monitor ongoing credit performance, including covenant compliance and early identification of potential risks
- Lead the renewal and amendment process, coordinating with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure timely execution
- Develop and implement action plans for underperforming or stressed credits, including restructuring strategies where needed
- Ensure all portfolio activity aligns with internal credit policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements
- Review legal documentation to confirm consistency with approved credit terms and conditions
- Maintain accurate portfolio reporting and support internal reviews, audits, and examinations
- Stay informed on market conditions and industry trends to proactively manage portfolio risk and identify opportunities
