We are currently partnering with a global banking institution in New York City that is looking to add an AVP, OFAC Manager to its Financial Crimes Compliance organization.
This role sits within the Bank’s second-line compliance function and is responsible for leading and managing the institution’s OFAC and sanctions compliance program. The position oversees sanctions governance, ensuring effective identification, investigation, escalation, and regulatory reporting of sanctions-related risks across all products, services, customers, and transactions.
The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the Bank’s OFAC compliance framework, including policy development, internal controls, and sanctions screening oversight. Responsibilities include managing customer, transaction, and vendor screening processes, reviewing and resolving OFAC and PEP alerts, overseeing blocked and rejected transaction reporting, conducting sanctions risk assessments, and serving as the primary owner of the Bank’s OFAC screening systems and sanctions lists.
This individual will partner closely with Compliance, Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders to provide guidance on sanctions-related matters, deliver targeted OFAC training programs, support internal audits and independent reviews, and assist with regulatory examinations. The position also plays a key role in strengthening controls, maintaining required BSA/AML documentation, and promoting a strong culture of compliance across the organization.
This is a full-time on site position based in New York City.
Overview:
- Lead and maintain the Bank’s OFAC and sanctions compliance program, including policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements.
- Oversee sanctions screening systems and investigations, including review and disposition of OFAC/PEP alerts and management of blocked or rejected transactions.
- Conduct sanctions risk assessments, maintain required compliance documentation, and support regulatory examinations, audits, and independent reviews.
- Provide sanctions advisory support and training to business, operations, and compliance teams to promote strong regulatory compliance practices.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
