Overview
A corporate accounting team is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to provide interim support for day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. This role is well suited for someone who can independently execute core accounting activities while also digging into complex reconciliations, analyzing accounting issues, and supporting broader financial reporting needs. The assignment is expected to run through year-end, with potential for extension as the organization evaluates its longer-term staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany balancing, and related close procedures.
- Support daily accounting operations and ensure accounting records are accurate and complete.
- Coordinate with shared services teams on fixed assets, lease accounting, prepaid expenses, accruals, and related accounting activities.
- Assist with preliminary financial reviews, investigate variances, and prepare supporting schedules for reporting packages.
- Prepare quarterly schedules and supporting deliverables for external financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial statements, cash flow statements, and related reporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Analyze accounting data and investigate discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate resolutions.
- Support acquisition-related accounting activities and other corporate accounting projects.
- Apply accounting policies, internal controls, and established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce risk.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to provide requested documentation and support a timely year-end audit.
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting close and reporting deadlines.
