Overview
A leading global investment manager is seeking an Assistant Controller to support its real estate investment platform. This role sits within a sophisticated, publicly traded environment and offers exposure to complex fund structures and REIT entities.
The position will play a key role in financial reporting, close processes, and audit coordination while partnering across accounting, investor relations, and external audit teams. Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements (10-Q / 10-K) in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes across multiple real estate funds and REIT entities
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed supporting schedules
- Partner with internal teams and external auditors during year-end audits and SOX compliance procedures
- Contribute to investor reporting and regulatory filings
- Perform financial analysis and reporting using advanced Excel
- Assist with process enhancements and continuous improvement of accounting workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA-track preferred
- 3–6 years of experience, ideally from Big 4 or public accounting
- Experience with public company reporting (10-Q / 10-K) strongly preferred
- Exposure to real estate, REITs, fund accounting, or alternative asset management is a plus
- Strong technical accounting foundation and knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, large datasets)
- Highly detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills
